“In wine, there are no nevers and no always.” Tony Biagi

Led by Tony Biagi and assistant winemaker Adrien Halpin, NEOTEMPO brings together nature, art, and science to craft wines of elegance, resonance, and depth. Each wine has a unique persona but the Philosophy is what is shared.

Vineyard First

Great winemaking begins in the vineyard, where terroir, climate, vine selection, and farming practices shape each wine’s potential.

Estate Terroir

Our estate fruit reflects distinct clones, soils, exposures, and microclimates — with the front and back blocks revealing different personalities.

Micro-Block Harvesting

We harvest based on phenolic ripeness across micro-blocks, allowing each site and section of the vineyard to express its own character.

Precision Choices

Toast levels, barrel selection, time in barrel, and racking are calibrated by taste, texture, structure, and vintage character.

Our wines are crafted to authentically express the place where they are grown and the unique story of each vintage. There is no fixed recipe. Each vintage asks different questions, and we adapt with intention while preserving the distinct persona of each wine.

While we use precision technology to pursue the highest quality, the goal is never to manipulate the wine, but to understand it more deeply. Technology does not replace artisanship — it helps scale it, giving us sharper insight, better memory, and greater confidence in the decisions that preserve balance, clarity, and place.

Nature’s Hidden Art Revealed Through Science

In the spirit of exploring the close relationship between nature, art and science we are proud to share with you the photos of the 2021 Neotempo Kiatra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon wine crystals – this is a novel achievement where nature’s hidden art is revealed through science. It’s the first time you can taste a wine and also see its crystals. We will be sharing digital and print copies of our wine with our club membership – stay tuned.

We partnered with the world renowned nature photographer and researcher Dr. Robert Berdan to experiment in his lab on methods of creating and taking photographs of wine crystals made from our wines. Each crystal is unique and like a fingerprint produces a unique texture. Note we have purchased the photographs for our wine crystals but we wanted Dr. Berdan to share some of the photos on his website for educational purposes.

Dr. Berdan is a fantastic artist and a great teacher – he has written a great article on the process to photograph the crystals and his collaboration with us as well as great historical details here. His work is available for purchase at his website.
