Depeche Mode’s third album “Construction Time Again” was released in August of 1983. It was the band’s first album to feature Alan Wilder as a full member and his contributions added depth and texture to the songs with his superb attention to detail. “Construction Time Again” was recorded in London’s Garden Studio and mixed in the famous Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin. The band experimented with new sampling technology, which created unique sounds from any source, especially pipes, metal, and other “industrial” objects.  This made “Construction Time Again” a ground-breaking album influencing many artists across multiple genres. The band with the help of Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones started a journey of pioneering in electronic music leveraging innovative sampling to turn every imaginable sound into rhythmic baselines and melodies that felt from another planet.  Highlights are the singles “Everything Counts”, and “Love in Itself”. These songs have great ear catching melodies played through “industrial sounds” that were sampled.

This style and mood of the record was complimented and enhanced with Brian Griffin’s photographs depicting workers in often breathtakingly beautiful scenic backgrounds.
