Depeche Mode released their debut album “Speak and Spell” in October/November 1981 and enjoyed commercial success with its uplifting and melodic pop. This would be Vince Clarke’s only album with the band and the start of Brian Griffin’s partnership with Depeche Mode. The album cover and the other photos from the session started what would be a great catalogue of museum worthy images demonstrating how Brian’s vivid imagination and photographic images added to the modern new era of electronic music.
